  this is a very strange thing for me to do.

  i have been an active witness for over 25 years.

  i currently serve as an elder and i conduct the watchtower study.

  Your wife sounds like my wife, although she has no problems missing meetings, she is very loyal to the organization.

  Would like to here more of your story, I too struggle with the "Overlapping, Flipping Generation" explanations.

  English Speaking Congregations in Mexico...

  has anyone read a letter or heard of english-speaking congos being shut down in mexico?

  an elder told me that this was happening, and that it was based on a "scriptural precedent.

  " sounds like downsizing with a made-up bs reason to me.

  Ran into a friend at an Assembly 2 months ago named R.R. He has been in Mexico serving as an Elder for the past 8 years. Him and his wife were having 23 Bible Studies a month all with Spanish people, although they were in an English Congregation(the spanish wanted to learn English).

  Then a letter from the Branch said that English study with English, Spanish with Spanish.

  That left everyone in the Congregation without Bible studies. English friends started leaving Mexico, including R.R. with his wife.

  He said 7 English Congregations disbanded in his area.

  Do not talk about GAWD in Cracker Barrel on Sunday

  so this morning the wife and i went to cracker barrel for breakfast.

  my lovely sister watched the kids for us last night so we have to pick them up later.. anyway a few minutes later the family sits at a table next to us.

  their food comes and they begin to pray.they all join hands and he begins praying out loud.. very loud.. so out of respect my wife and i stop talking... they eat and we eat no biggie.

  The Big Announcement..this week

  have you heard what the "big announcement" is to be this week.

  supposedly the bethel homes will get some announcement today and the congregations will announce the new something by the end of the week..

  The School for Couples and Single brothers has been combined. Now called the "School for Kingdom Publishers" . Also single sisters and those up to 65 years of age can apply. Must be in good health, able to take care of all your own financial needs. You you be assigned to areas where the need is great.

  Letting go of Highly Qualified Men

  i have been posting for a few months now and have read the life stories of tech49, confusedandalone, winston smith and other brothers who have held prominent positions in the organization who were dismissed not for any gross sins, but mainly for not keeping their child toeing the line.

  they have been "cast aside", nit picked to death, and made to feel unworthy for their years of dedicated service.

  even in my case, having my best friends treat me like the plague to jockey for position of recogntion.. is this what the organization is resorting to now?

  Elder families are to be exemplary, however there is no alowance for a child to err.

  Also, in my case 6 Elders were childless, 2 with (they were the only ones who spoke positively for me, the ones without children "have families all figured out").

  when i was an elder, i had a few couples approach me to confess that they either played around or went all the way.. i suspect there were many more that did not admit to it, though..

  About 75% in our area engaged in permarital sex.

  Before I performed the wedding, I would asked the couple if it was a clean courtship, they all said "YES", only later to confess of wrongdoing

  4 Letters from the Branch read tonight, no warning from this site

  tonight at our meeting we had 4 letters from "the branch" read at our meeting.

  i was caught off guard since we usually have an advance warning when these letters are going to be read.

  is the watchtower getting better at hiding these letters?.

  Big push on using mobile devices, at the meetings and in the field. We had a demo on how to use it when you meet a person who speaks a foreign language.

  Also, Brothers giving various talks, can use these devises while giving parts on the platform.
